- A winner in the 'Observer/David Hodge Young Photojournalist of the year’ award 1994.

- Recipient of ‘West Midlands Arts ‘Portfolio Award’ 1999.

- Recipient of West Midlands Arts/'Seeing the Light' bursary, 2000 and again in 2001.

- PADI scuba diver certified (qualified Australia 2001).

- Presently working on two photographic projects. One portraying the people and architecture of Birmingham’s Bullring, and Digbeth areas. This is in conjunction with the local council, and involves the creation of a photographic archive in Birmingham Central library. Secondly, I am currently working in collaboration with the Birmingham-based photographer Ravi Deepres, to create an exhibition with images we shot whilst following the football supporters during World Cup 2002 in Japan.

- Photographs for 'Tommy Gunn' (2000) a play, and live internet event exploring football culture. The photographs were incorporated as an element of the performance. This was commissioned by 'Pitchbend Productions', Sheffield.

- Photographic work for ‘The British Red Cross’ working alongside a journalist/PR officer in Morecombe 1994.

- Photographer for a sponsored ‘Skill’s Convoy’ which travelled to Romania in 1993 to help convert a disused prison for use as a home for elderly.

- Involvement (photographic and other work) in the volunteer sector (UK and abroad) via The British Trust for Conservation Volunteers.
